This gin was not named after black powder - as one might initially think - but after the green tea variety of the same name. This forms the basis for the Gunpowder Gin. Chinese tea, on the other hand, gets its name from the fact that its leaves are rolled into small balls, which preserves its quality for many years. Gunpowder Tea is joined by eleven other botanicals: juniper, violet root, angelica root, caraway and coriander seeds, meadowsweet, cardamom, star anise, grapefruit, kaffir lime and lemon. These flavorings are either distilled or infused with steam. The place of action is called Shed Distillery and is located in Irish Drumshanbo, a small town with just 1000 inhabitants.

The Green Spot Irish Whiskey
12,000 bottles of this whiskey are filled every year, mainly for the domestic market with Galway, Limerick, Cork and Dublin as the main transshipment points. Green Spot is a single pot still whiskey from Midleton Distillery, produced exclusively for Mitchell & Sons - a seventh generation old family business active in the wine and spirits trade. After all, it was the Mitchells who invented the Green Spot and made it popular. At that time there were even several spot whiskeys of different ages, whose names were based on the custom of marking casks of different ages with a splash of colour.
